I fell in love with Sanibel Island the moment I saw the dunes covered in colorful protective sea grapes and its white shelly beaches. I loved the peaceful, laid back vibe and the friendly residents and how we biked most everywhere. I painted sea grapes and palm trees for 2 weeks! This was in 2020 on the south coast before the hurricane Ian in 2022 destroyed the island and lighthouse. I can’t imagine this boardwalk is even there anymore. The sunlit palms shadows danced on the planks and I had to record this beautiful moment.
